#KitchenerEats at Nostra Cucina’s Back Door

Kitchener Eats is a joint initiative of Andrew Coppolino of Waterloo Region Eats and myself. It’s an ever changing informal group interested in exploring Kitchener’s restaurants. We especially enjoy the culinary adventures available downtown including the diversity of cultural food available.

We encourage you to come on out and join us! We do lunches, dinners and breakfast about once every 2 – 4 weeks. There are no fees. Everyone pays their own way and you can come to whichever events you wish. Just let us know so that the restaurant can be ready for us. We spread the news on our blogs, on Twitter and by e-mailing past participants.

Kitchener Eats at Nostra Cucina’s Back Door

It’s time for another culinary adventure! We’re doing Italian this time at a restaurant that takes pride in its FRESH pasta. So if you love the tastes of Italy, it promises to be a special evening.

We’re going to a restaurant called the Back Door which is operated by and behind Nostra Cucina on Manitou for dinner at 7 p.m. on July 12. If you can join us, please register so that we can let the restaurant know how many to expect.

To be honest, I almost wish we were going to Nostra Cucina because Andrew tells me they have the best veal sandwiches around. I’m not normally one for veal (for a variety of reasons) but I developed a taste for Italian breaded veal sandwiches when I live in Toronto and it’s been a long time since I had one.

Maybe I can convince them to invest in a food truck while I’m there. With any luck, Kitchener will soon catch up to Waterloo and Hamilton on that score!

Speaking of food trucks, it looks like after a flurry of tasty activity that there’s a bit of a dry spell until July 18 when the Caplansky truck makes a welcome return visit to Kitchener City Hall.

  1. I think this is a delicious idea, can’t make this one but I’ll definately follow the blog for one that’s convenient for me.

  2. Love the idea of more food trucks in KW. That would be so fantastic!

    • Thanks for taking the time for saying so. The more often decision-makers see or hear that kind of comment, the more likely it is to happen. Kitchener in particular seems to need a push.
