Provide input on natural gas rates & Kitchener’s official plan

Variable or stable natural gas rates?

Some citizens have been concerned over the last year about natural gas rates.

Kitchener Utilities is about to negotiate a new long term deal. First they want to know what you prefer stable or variable rates.

Take the survey found here and let them know by March 21. You could even be eligible to win $300 credit on your bill.

Please note that they are using this opportunity to get additional information about Kitchener Utilities and so there’s several questions before you get to those about rates.

Official Plan

A public meeting to consider the proposed final draft of the city’s new Official Plan and related amendment to the city’s current Official Plan will be held:

Monday, March 17 at 7 p.m.
Council Chambers, 2nd floor, City Hall
200 King Street W, Kitchener

You can give feedback at the meeting or in writing prior to the meeting.

  1. That’s a tough one James. We want variable when it’s going down and fixed when it goes up – what’s that other world called we dream of at times??

    • Sorry for the delayed reponse Denis. I was speaking at a major nonprofit conference in Washington D.C.last week. I think you’re analysis is right and no matter which option we pick someone can look back later and say that the other option would have been better. If only we had a crystal ball.
